Wow, what an awesome privilege and massive blessing to be called, Mom, Ma, Mother, Mammy, Mama and whatever other affectionate names, our children chooses to call us? I've always wanted to be a mother from as far back, as I could remember--and God blessed me with this honor-- in His perfect timing! The process was not easy because it didn't happen when I wanted it to happen. There were many, many sleepless nights because I stayed up crying, for the children that I wanted so desperately--But joy came in the morning! Psalm 31:24: Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!
Listen, being a mother is a very challenging task to carry out--I've made so many mistakes that I wish that I could erase from my memory--but I can't! However, instead of beating up on myself and feeling discouraged, I run to the word of God because that's where I find refuge. The bible states in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. I know within my spirit that God has forgiven me so I now have to forgive myself--and ask my child/children for forgiveness. Please don't be so proud that you can't apologize to your children for things that were said or done because of "hurt". My sister be content with the fact that you're not perfect and fully understand that we're all going to make mistakes--but keep in mind that the word states, "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins", 1 Peter 4:8. When we love each other deeply, as it's noted in the good book (Bible), there's no room for animosity!
Ephesians 2:10:For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. God has wonderfully preordained you and I, for the role of motherhood. Knowing this fact, humbles me--I'm also overwhelmed with gratitude for this honor! God chose us for this role; therefore, He has equipped us to execute His plan--Wow! I'm encouraged and I'm encouraging you today, to utilize His roadmap (Bible) as we travel along this journey of motherhood. Romans 8:38-39: reads, "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord".
